Message from Alex sur MySpace/theupperroomspaceHi everyone, as there is quite a lot of misinformation going around at the moment, I am writing this message to clear up a few things. People have been guessing (and guessing wrongly) what the next move will be for the band and its members. I’ve had a great time over the last couple of years in The Upper Room and I will always remain good friends with Jim, Jon and Beau. However, after recently splitting from our Record Label I feel it is time for me to move on. I am very grateful to all of you for being so supportive over the last few years. It’s too early to say exactly what we’re all going to be doing next. But speaking for myself I am certainly planning to be writing and recording songs in the future – and hopefully the others are too.

The UPPER ROOM – All over this Town (2005)
La nouvelle émission d’Entrée Libre est en ligne 
, avec notamment The UPPER ROOM : un énorme gâchis (je vous parle pas de l’émission, mais du groupe, qui a splitté, lourdé par son label Columbia/Sony Records, faute de succès). Alors COLDPLAY, c’est très bien, mais encore faut-il laisser la place aux autres groupes du même style également, je pense à EMBRACE mais à LONGVIEW également, dont le 2ème album ne verra jamais probablement le jour faute de Label. Et ça me fout en rogne, je supporte + cette injustice, vous pouvez pas savoir comme ça me fout en rogne : surtout d’avoir découvert ce groupe de manière posthume, seulement cet été par hasard en lisant les commentaires sur une vidéo de Longview : LONGVIEW, EMBRACE & The UPPER ROOM are the most under-rated British Bands… Mais PUTAIN! Pourquoi personne n’en a parlé? Sans parler de leur site officiel 
qui est devenu une page blanche, non entretenu par Sony/Columbia, comme des malpropres / et leur page MySpace 
, envahie de spams et messages publicitaires. Voilà comment finit un groupe, à la Poubelle de Spams. Tout ça me tue : The World of Music is fucked up…Ce groupe aurait dû devenir grand, très grand…

This Band had some FANTASTIC SONGS. I’ve been waiting for a BRITISH BAND AS GOOD AS The SMITHS for a while and these could have been it. LET’S DEMAND THEY REFORM.

A propos de Longview, mais c’est valable également pour The Upper Room, fantastique album. Ne ratez pas également les sessions Metway de The Upper Room, des versions acoustiques fabuleuses qui donnent une toute autre lumière aux chansons de l’album, magnifiquement écrites, mais qui ont le défaut d’être trop rentre-dedans et homogènes les unes par rapport autres : l’album manque de respirations, ça fonçe à 100 à l’heure et on en ressort un peu KOs.
I cannot get enough of this band. You’re all dead right, they are so underated. I would choose Long-view over Snow patrol anyday of the year. Fantastic Words, Tunes and just simply amazing.
They have been my favourite band for 2 years now, one day they will get the recognition they deserve

La version de "Black & White" en fin de podcast d"’Entrée Libre" est magnifique.
Je ne l’avais pas entendue comme ça dans le studio !

Les groupes qui s’arrêtent pour des raisons de label, c’est toujours triste même quand on n’est pas fan du groupe.
Pour Longview, on peut toujours éspérer…
