HELLO SAFERIDE, 3ème Single

‘Arjeplog’ is the new single.
You: Oh but Annika what is it about?
HS: It’s about the north of Sweden, about going to the city and missing the countryside, and about going to the countryside and missing the city. It’s about love, and it’s about spooning without one arm getting numb.
You: Oh and Annika, where is it filmed?
HS: We filmed it at Vittjåkk. Time spent: 5 minutes. Budget: 0 Skr. I love it.
Here it is. Enjoy

After a few listens it is becoming one of my favorites of the year. I’m quite surprised myself cause at first I didn’t like it at all…

I already like the new album, sounds different. I didn’t enjoy their last one all that much so I’m glad they didn’t make a record that sounded like that one, it’s totally different from all the albums they made before (my favourite has always been  »No Cities Left » but I think I’m gonna love this one). It’s gonna grow on me more and more…awesome.

Yeah, this album is a lot less accessible than their last two, but listen to it 5 times before you judge it. It’s a lot less overblown than their last two albums- the old Dears tried writing impressive songs, but the new Dears are focussing on writing genuine songs, instead. There’s no big overdriven guitars or world-exploding orchestral arrangements, but there’s a million times more emotional impact in the songs FOR that- sure, there’s some duds (I can’t stand the first track and Money Babies sounds like a TVOTR b-side) but I think this is probably their most consistent album to date. So give it 5 listens, it’s well worth it!

I really don’t like Gang Of Losers and it kind of killed the band for me. Never the less, No Cities Left is one of the best albums I have heard. I’m going to play it in a minute I think.

I am usually a bit shy to say this after only a few listens but here I think it’s different. This is amazing! The Dears reach another level of excellence!

On aime!
